I think the truck is worth $55k on trade if it wasn’t for covid aftermath.
I dont like it for the economy and overall America but I regretted buying a short bed so at least there is a bright side to it. I also do not like the diesel as I live in town and hardly get on the highway.
As far as making money you would need to watch the market on classics and buy right.
I had around 76 in the truck with aftermarket (kinda wish I slowed down and kept my shocks now). Add in interest expense. There is no money made. Just a good exit and I recommend anyone on the fence to go for it. I even had a dealer tell me they would hold my trade value till an ordered one came in (but had to go to a different brand Mercedes).
Joe T, you weren't flying up I-65 Saturday afternoon in Nashville, were you? I had a black S-63 blow by me as we're making our way to SD for vacation. I was going to try and catch up for the hell of it but the wife was already mad at me for "driving too fast." Not too fast, Babe, this is vacation speed! Anyway, whoever it was was hauling a** & I just thought about you when I saw it. Don't see too many of them.
I did the same with my 2020 F250 XL just last week. Made about 5k by selling to Vroom. They gave me over MSRP and I finally wound up making a little dough on an impulse vehicle purchase for once! Eliminated the bit of equity I had rolled into the truck, too. Just too hard to resist.
Haven't decided what to get yet but it will be used and under $30k. Will take my time finding the right one with the right history.
I'm like you, definitely a truck guy but I've had so many vehicles, from Mercedes to Powerstrokes and everything in-between.
Feels great to have no car payment again. My 2000 Accord EX v6 with 180k on the clock still gets me to and from work, reliably.
I was paying a lot of money for my Ford to sit 90% of the week. I'll miss it but I wasn't as attached to it as I thought.
I am running it down the blue ridge parkway and surrounding area on the way home. I assure you this car is getting a workout the original owner never did.
The connectivity and user friendliness of the F250 is actually better. Leather is only a couple steps down in quality. But damn when I say quality I say they didnt miss ANYTHING with carbon fiber (has necessary carbon fiber package option), alcantera, leather, or brushed aluminum, and crazy azz ambient lighting. Double thick glass everything, nuts what they put into these and thats why I got one.
I probably will order another F250 just wont be a nice one...
It is crazy. According to NADA, retail on my truck is $20k more than I paid almost two years ago. Clean trade is $14k more than I paid. Too bad; I need my truck.

…and replacement trucks are 20K more. Inflation spares nothing and no one.
It’s all relative.

Yep, it would only be a winner for me if I sold it and did not have to replace it or could do without while waiting on a 22. Even our 11 year old Merc with 150k miles on it has gone up in value 10%; according to NADA.
