I have 1964 F350 with a 292, while the WD 40 does it thing does anyone know if the mounts for the engine and transmission have any side to side movement? I installed some patriot headers that are listed as fitting, one side has at least 3/4 inches of clearance and the other side is touching the frame. It is also touching the transmission crossmember, figured I'd try to see if I can get it to clear by lifting the front of the engine slightly. Hoping it has some side to side play to see if I can get it to clear the frame.
Also anyone have a Motor mount P/N for a Canadian Made 1964 F350, I ordered some from rock auto and they look nothing like what's installed. Either they different or not the proper part.
Ford did have a habit of changing parts during a model year, sometimes more than once... and I have found that Rock Auto's parts catalog is sometimes incorrect, either. I always look at the pictures and specs carefully.
Also, WD-40 is not a really good penetrating oil, and when the lighter fractions evaporate, the heavy stuff that remains is gummy. Remember it stands for "Water Displacement". If you want a pre-mixed can, Kroil seems to be one of the best. But a 50/50 mixture of acetone and ATF is the best I've ever found. You need to shake it just before applying since the two halves separate out fairly fast. (I use a refillable aerosol can for mine).
That said, I don't have an answer to your original question, sorry. But I'm sure someone else who's actually pulled the engine will chime in. That's on my schedule for next year

My two 1966 F250 4x4's both use the front and rear mounts. One 6 cylinder and one V8. 3 touch points - 1 in front and 2 on the bellhousing. Once you place the engine you have to pass bolts through the frame, insulators and mount. There is not much wiggle room. I use a larger phillips screwdriver to line up each hole before installing the bolt for each.
