Need help with a part number 2004 F250 6.0 auto 4wd dual alternator. Looking for a part number for the line that comes off the ac condenser. I can only find the one off the compressor
I can't help you, but that's interesting. I have dual alts on my Eseries trucks and expect the Fseries sets up the same way, with the second alternator on the lower passenger side, right above where the AC compressor. Have you compared your lines to other non-dual alt trucks to see if it's the same? If so, you might get lucky and find one at an area pic-u-part yard. Not like they usually wear out.
I believe the e and f lines are different but the alternator are in the same spots
yes, the truck and van lines are definitely different. I was just wondering if a single alternator Fseries truck had the same line as a dual alternator truck. If so, I'd be searching PuP yards.
I'd hit the Home Depot parking lot at 7am M-F. There will be someone in a 6.0 F250 show up shortly who would prolly be willing to help a fellow 6.0L owner take a peek under his hood at that AC line. If they're the same, game over. You'll be able to find one for sure. If they're different, if they're unique to dual-alt F series, eek. There just weren't that many sold, and that's not a maintenance part.
It is different than my OEM ( I have a single alternator) but the bend would surely clear a second alternator, since it now will sit BEHIND my CAC tube where it used to sit in front...... or they superseded this and eliminated my OEM hose since it will work.
