ZF 6sp Problem

Hi everyone, new here and have an issue with an 00 F350 DRW 4x4 7.3 6 speed truck, it has a clunking in 6th gear only when accelerating or cruizing the noise goes completely away when you take your foot of fthe skinny peddal.

You can hear and feel this issue, sounds like it ha sa tooth missing but makes no sense why it would nopt make some sort of noise on decelleration imo.

Truck has 3:73 gear and 180k on it if that helps at all. Someone please help, I am flabber gasted on thsi one.

Thanks

I think something has loosened up. The space between the teeth in the input gear and output gear maybe, or the shifter isn't getting the gear completely engaged, or the synchronizer on that gear isn't doing it's job. Try draining the gear oil (if you haven't already) and seeing what you get then. Metal fragments are a sign that it's time to rebuild.
