So I'm swapping the C6 out of my 87 F150, for the AOD out of an 89, and obviously the Neutral Safety Switch is different, does anybody have a wiring diagram for that circuit on an 89, and possibly any idea what the part number is for the connector? It's the round 5-pin style.
You sure your not counting the center hole as a pin... looks like you should have a 4 pin connector with a center hole to align the connector to the switch.

Yeah, that looks like the NS-44, but I haven't been able to find a matching 5 pin connector yet... nor have I stumbled on a wiring diagram, everything is the 4 pin version.
I've got no issue just getting the 4-pin version if that's what it takes, the switch is cheap enough, I'd just rather not buy a switch if I don't have to.
Thanks sandy, that tells me what I need to know. Looks like that fifth pin doesn't actually have a function, Apparently I can just clip it off and use the 4 pin connector.
Ok, so for some *bizzare* reason, the pigtail that runs from the NSS on the AOD has a Female connector on the end where it plugs into the harness. Which would be fine, except the Harness has a female end on it as well. So obviously they aren't going to plug in.
I need to splice the Male connector off of the C6 onto the pigtail for the AOD, so I have a functioning Neutral Safety Switch, and Backup Lights.
So herein lies my problem.
According to my EVTM
Red W Light Blue Stripe is the wire for the Starter interlock. It exists in the AOD Pigtail, and in the C6 NSS wiring.
Purple W Orange Stripe is the Backup Lamp Activate Wire. It exists in both the AOD and C6 Harnesses.
Now here is the part that I can't figure out/havent found in my EVTM yet.
The AOD Harness has the following 4 wires:
Purple W Orange Stripe
Red W Light Blue Stripe
White W Red Stripe
Black W Purple(Pink?) Stripe
The C6 Harness has:
Purple W Orange Stripe
2X Red W Light Blue Stripe
Black W Pink Stripe
So obviously, Splice P/O to P/O, and B/P to B/P, but which one of the R/LB wires on the C6 harness is the one I want, or does it matter on that circuit?
Just Wire the R/LB on the AOD Harness to one of the R/LB on the C6 Plug, and the W/R to the other R/LB?
I love wiring...
Just in case anybody asks. 1987 F150 4x4, 4.9l It left the Factory with a C6, I removed the C6 and replaced it with an AOD.
So just as a followup, in case anybody comes looking in the future. The 2 R/LB wires on the C6 NSS harness are basically identical. The polarity doesn't matter, so just hook up the AOD R/LB to one of the C6 R/LB and the W/R from the AOD to the other, and everything works just peachy keen.
