Hello All!
If anyone is a wiring guru, I need little help: I have an '02 Excursion that the passenger rear window isn't working (been that way since I purchased it, finally getting around to fixing it). I was figuring just a bad motor (like all of my other Fords), replaced it but still no bueno. I have the manufacturers wiring diagram book, and found the following while t'shooting:
I have 12v on these two points at the drivers console
BUUUUUT, I have no connection (continuity) between F & G between drivers console (DC) and RH rear control, but continuity between I of the DC and RH rear control:
I would first swap switches form one door to the next and rule that out. Then look for a broken wire in the rubber boot where the wiring goes into the door from the frame of the vehicle. Most breaks occur there.
99.9% chance you have broken wires inside the rubber boot in the door hinge area. Pull the boot back from the truck frame and find those wire colors. They will be broken in two from all the opening and closing over the years. This is a common issue, and one I have also experienced and had to fix. Exact same scenario as yours.
Talk about "hitting the nail on the head"! SPOT ON diagnosis!!! Both Y/B and R/B were broken! Funny, this window hasn't worked since I bought the rig for my wife. This is the FIST time in years it's rolled down!😂😂😂 Thanks again eve
