the bottom bolt is a drain plug..Im guessing it needs a little tightening..
Are you sure about that? I know the Dana M275 has a drain bolt because I used it a couple weeks ago. I thought the D60 could only be drained by removing the differential cover.
I checked the level and it was good, and the bolts are snug. It just pisses me off.
Then fix it yourself. It's a $20, 30 minute job. Pull the cover, clean up the faces, RTV and bolt up again, and refill. It's not a bad idea to drain and refill after breaking in the new gears and bearings anyway.
The truck may have 16k but what does the front diff have on it? I’d wager 99% of Super Duties with 16k on the clock will have less than 100 miles with the front diff spinning. So saying the gears are worn in might be a stretch. Of course that makes absolutely no difference for a seeping cover.
Mine looks about the same and I’m not planning to do anything about it unless it starts dripping.
