Code 1293 and Forscan
Hello all
I have a beautiful 2003 Ford Exc 4x4 7.3L that is under the weather. One of the main problems, probably, is the previous owner attached it to his boat as a yard ornament and rarely started or moved it. We have had it for over a year now and I have replaced and done as much maintenance as I can get to. Recently the Queen left but pulled back in to get her phone....and as she was driving back it it started to run very rough. I use Forscan and an EX scan tool and came up with 1293.
I changed the v/c gasket and re-scanned after it still ran rough on start up(but at least it would start easily).
Has anyone had a similar issue and if so what was your final solution?

I am at a loss as it was giving no issues prior, no warning for anything but when I pulled the v/c the plug did appear to be separated so I thought that might be the solution.

There are about 150 previous threads with your DTC, either with or without the letter "P" prefix. There's probably nothing new under the sun that hasn't been covered before so plugging that fault code, in both its variations, into the search tool will likely lead you to plenty of discussions to get you started
