I have a 2000 Expedition with a 4.6L, 66K miles. Last Dec a code indicated a bad COP on #7. I changed it out along with the plug. It has run great since, until about a month ago. The symtoms are the same as a bad COP, but no code. My wife was driving it and the service engine light flashed, but no code. For about the first 15 minutes from start up its fine, then it really starts running rough, shifting rough, hesitating. Any help would be appreciated Thanks.
Same problem at present - no code but rough going when warm and under load. Idle is smooth - so is vehicle drivability when cold. When warm, then she's stumblin'.
Just replaced one of those rascals at 78K miles. Got 83K now. Dealer says the newer COP have a much greater MTBF. Let's hope.
2 down. 6 to go? Does it hurt to drive it like this?
