Hi Buffewo,
Is the Travel-Link in your Explorer still working? Travel Link in my 2021 Explorer stopped working about 2 weeks ago. I contacted sirius did some refreshes talked to their techs and super techs. been to the dealer. Still not working.
It will work for a few restarts after a master reset then back to not working.
Maybe I need to get my APIM (what ever that is) recalibrated.
Just an FYI - I went through the same with sirius (refreshes, disabled my account, reenabled my account, etc. with multiple levels of support) and no luck. Master reset behaved the same as yours. One or two restarts and not functioning.
If your Sync version is 3.4.21020, pretty sure you will never get it to work and will have to wait for Ford to provide some fix or do as I did and go back to a previous version of Sync and turn off automatic updates.
My dealer did a parts replacement as well on some module in the Sync system, saying it was the issue and of course did the master reset. It worked for about 2 days.
Good News. I started a post on Facebook and a poster is interacting with Ford Corporate, they are aware
His quote: got an email from ford today. " I would suggest turning off automatic updates as we can see its the over the air updates that is causing the concern. I know that they are still working on root cause of why this is happening. I have a meeting with that team tomorrow to see if there are any updates. I will mention your case in my meeting so I can push even further that it is probably a software push issue." So they know about the issue, Why the hell havent they pulled the OTA update that has done more harm then good?

Based on trial and error of my experiences. Don't think it is a push/software update issue, but an issue with a specific version update of sync. But at least they are aware of an issue. Would be nice if they would let their cohorts over at Sirius know so they don't get the bad rap from the customer base.

Hahah, Ford (and most corporates) can't communicate within, it would take a 6 month project team to let Sirus know. Let's just hope they figure out what they did, and fix it. Crazy thing, mine works first time in truck, before 9 am, anything later it does not.
well heck. after a week my travel link quit working. apparently the system somehow upgraded to 3.4.21020. not sure what strategy to try now. take to dealer perhaps.
I had the auto upgrade feature disabled.
I have a 2021 F-350 with Nav. I had the same issues as many with the travel link not correctly working after initially working as advertised. After reading through this thread, I checked my sync version and found it to be 3.4.21020 which seems to have been updated back in April. After the truck would sit for many hours (8+), typically all of the SiriusXM services would be available till the truck would be turned off and then when started again, services would state “Not Available” till the truck rested for 8+ hours.
Following the advice of “hillcountryfit” I downloaded CyanLabs Sync3 Updater and rolled back to 3.4.20351 and performed a Master Reset. I then turned off Automatic Updates and things worked fine for a day or two. Eventually services quit working again and when I checked the sync version it was 3.4.21020 again. I looked through the settings and verified that the Automatic Update slider was turned off. What I discovered was that even though the slider was set to off, the updater was still active. Touching the “i” icon, a message popped up and asked me if I wanted to turn off Automatic Updates although I could still see the slider in the background in the off position. After clicking yes the automatic updates were in fact turned off and after rolling back again to 3.4.20351 all services are working as expected. After the second rollback I didn’t do a Master Reset so all of the settings remained as they were. Touching the “i” icon now only gives information as to what Automatic updates does and now no prompts are available.
I suspect that this is what happed to “hillcountryfit” when his system upgraded back to 3.4.21020. Hopefully all is well now and Ford will provide an update that will address these SiriusXM issues.
Ferta McDaniels. Not sure what changed in the latest version, but I have not ran across any issues with the downgraded version after nearly two weeks. Seems like I was experiencing calls locking up on the current version as well.
Glad you tried my approach. Not for everybody, but seems like a reasonable way to take control of the issue.
Recently did the lates sync update on my 2020 Lariat. It went OK. However, and I am not sure if its just timing, but my Sirius Travel Link subscription is not working any longer. Don't use much but the weather. Have done signal refresh from Sirius XM.
I saw my Weather come up one time since the Sync update, but no more. Betting it's just a timing coincidence and not cause-and-affect type of deal.
The apps say they are connecting to get data, but never display. The sirius xm status app indicates all but Audio as not available with one listed as not subscribed. First level tech from XM tried a few things and elevated it to next level.
Anyone else have this issue?
Yes. I am having the exact same issue with my 2020 Lariat. I suspect you are correct that the sync update somehow messed things up. However I am not having the same issue with my 2018 Expedition. Tech support at SiriusXM said I need to take it to the dealer to fix.

Reference your 2018 Expedition - does it have the same version sync as your pickup does now and does it have navigation?
2018 Expedition - SYNC Version 3.0.17276
2020 F350 Lariat - SYNC Version 3.4.21098
I was scheduled to take the truck to the dealer on Monday, but when I left the house everything on Travel Link started working again. However, today it has stopped working once again.

There's the difference. Sync 3.4.21098. Don't know if the 2018 expy will go up to 3.4.xxxxxx, but guessing it will.
The issue, from my observation is specific to certain iterations of 3.4.xxxxxx.
Does anyone have an update as to Ford sending out a software update to fix this issue? My Travel Link has not worked for a month and now my Sirus XM Radio is beginning to stop. I stopped for gas yesterday and when I got back in it did not work. This was the 3rd time in 3 days it happened. I am beyond frustrated with Ford!
I have not seen any. Do the downgrade like others have done. No issues with mine since I did it and turned off the automatic updates feature. Used the cyanlabs approach about a month ago.

Hey man, finally someone who has figured this out!! i have a 2021 f250 tremor and have the same issue and my dealer is clueless,. They were also going to replace my Sirius module. Travel link works when it wants but mostly doesn’t. If you use cynlab how can you tell it to use the downgraded version? Could you post a step by step using the cyan lab updater? I’m currently in version 3.4 21098. If this is just a sync software issue why is this not getting fixed!! I will gladly do the downgrade until Ford sends a fix!

Believe it or not the Cyanlabs updater - which creates a thumbdrive used to update the sync system - is pretty darn straightforward to use. You will have a drop down box that will allow you to select the version (in my case I used one recommended by user F150chief at the forum, 3.4.19274.
Basically, you need to download the updater program at https://cyanlabs.net/applications/syn3-updater/
Install it. Then you need to specify your sync system - nav (yes or no), region (north america or na), location of the downloaded files, whether you will update/downgrade grace notes, etc.
The documentation is found at the same location.
My dealer replaced some module as well. System worked for two or three restarts before quitting.
There is a Technical Service Bulletin related to the issue - think it is specified somewhere in this thread. Basically instructs the ford technician to create a downgrade disk (not sure what version they go back to). Just have to make sure automatic updates is disabled in any case.
I did the cyanlabs update/downgrade once. Worked for a few days and then quit - looked at version and it was back to current even though I thought I had turned off automatic updates. Repeated the process, verifying auto updates is off before and after the process and it has held sense (over a month ago).
This is one of my threads over at cyanlabs. https://community.cyanlabs.net/t/re-...el-link/3255/5
