Took a short trip to the river with the dogs. Travel link not working again.

Like jetjoe, I use travel link everytime we are on the road. I don't pay for the audio, but I make sure both of our vehicles have travel link.

In 2017, I used the travel link weather map to get us out of hurricane Harvey.

You saw how I got it back to working again - I am nearly positive, this ain't a sirius issue but a sync upgrade issue.
but definitely do a master reset prior to attempting any other approaches.
I am pretty comfortable with systems and upgrades - been an IT administrator for about 25 years - but have never updated any of my servers OS/Firmware with anything but OEM.
So i did not jump into the cyanlabs thing without a little research.
The process is pretty slick.
As to reliability of sirius. Been using it 15 or so years in my fords. Early days kind of sucked. The last few years have been pretty good.

I wasn't aware Sirius allowed you to purchase just Travelink. That wasn't the case when I subscribed years ago as you had to purchase a music package to get it. I tried. I guess I need to give them a call. I'll do it when I have a couple of hours to sit on hold.

We outran Erma from south Florida. But left early enough to beat the traffic. It was really strange headed north watching all the electrical line trucks moving south. And wondering what we would come back to three weeks later.

Not that I would have used just the travel link, but that is interesting to know.
I will say their support guys have been pretty aggressive in reaching out and working with me. Just got off the phone with them. Suggested that as closely linked as xm and ford are in terms of the entertainment system, it might behoove someone to reach out. No upgrades for my system for a while.
I let my expy update, but it is sans navigation, so no travel link.

How long of a drive are you taking? I did figure out that it takes 10 to 15 minutes for mine to come on line. It's a bit of a crap shoot. One day it's online in 2 to 3 miles, then the same trip another day, and nothing. .I've never let it idle that long parked in my driveway.

Dropped the truck off at the dealership this morning. Service writer called back this afternoon. Says technician detected a bad board/module. Ordered a new one. Might be a few days.

Anyone figure out a solution to this issue? My 21 Expedition is doing the same thing. I have Sync ver 3.4.21020. It just started recently. I know it worked after the last update and then at some point after it stoped.

Fixed...for now

Took my 2020 Explorer to the dealer. Told them my Sirius Travei Link not working. They found that the APIM was not properly calibrated. Also performed a Sirius update. Has been working fine for a week.

How long is Ford going to continue with the faulty APIMs? It can't be that difficult to remedy the design.

Got the truck back from the dealer yesterday after them replacing some sirius related module. Looked good for about 4 starts and no longer appears to be working.

Seems there may be a Ford resolution for our problem here - TSB 21-2150.
This technical service bulletin appears to address our issue right on the nose in addition to a few more.

Ya, that's my fear, a waste of time. I'm hopeful they will find a solution and dump it through the automatic updates. Hopeful, but low expectations. Actually disappointed I paid $500 when I ordered my truck and included Navi, I only will use Google Maps, and only like the travel link to show traffic on my daily driving. That is now gone (hopefully temporary) but I have no high expectations. Let us know if / how you ever sort out if you do, thanks
