I’m looking at throwing a new set of shocks on my pickup. I have a 3 inch leveling kit and code x leafs. How are people liking the blistein 5100s?
I just installed a set of 4 in place of what I think were the ones installed at the factory (old, black, rusty, and no compression). I can let you know in a few days but everything I've read has been very positive.
I bought and love my Bilstein 4600's. If I am remembering correctly, the only difference between a 4600 and 5100 series shock is the ride/travel height.
Loaded or unloaded, the Bilsteins perform well. I am confident there are other shocks out there that perform just as well, but I went with Bilstein and am very happy with them.
I have 5100 on my work truck, they are great, basically fail proof. I have 4600 on my centurion, they are great, I believe they are just a tad softer then the 5100, which is the goal for a nice smooth highway ride.
I finally did the 5100’s about 2 months ago and I will highly recommend them. Game changer for me , truck drives completely different. Mind you my old shocks had certainly seen their day and then some. Lots of clunky noises went away and the “wander” in my steering seems to have almost gone away and no I did not do the steering stabilizer when I did the shocks - I changed it about a year ago trying to fix the wandering front end without much luck. Get them they are worth it IMO...
