Am I reading it right you have an extra Grill on hand? Want to sell if so?
Yes sir! I have it listed on FB market place, but anyone on here will get a better deal on it. - just thought of something - I hope I am not breaking any rules by offering this for sale on here? Anyways, shoot me a message and we can work out a deal.
Looks great. So you had to relocate your ACC unit, right? What year is your truck? I’m concerned about the N-Fab bar working on my 2021 as it’s different than the 2020.
No I didn't have to move the ACC unit. The compatible part number was built to bolt around the unit without obstructing it. Mine is a 2017, but looks like they make them to fit 2021 models.
But I like my $60 cheapie. Throws light a mile down the road, ditch-to-ditch, and up to the treetops. Over 2 years now and going strong! $650+ in my pocket to spend on something else vs. a Rigid
I'm glad your budget bar is working well for you! What brand is it? We've lined up a cheaper Cree 30" light bar on one truck side by side with a Rigid 30" on another truck. There was no comparison when turning one on and then the other. The Rigid was head and shoulders better. The 480W 30" Rigid driving/spot combo I have on my truck is almost too bright...almost. Definitely takes getting used to.

And like you said, sometimes there is such thing as too bright. Glare from road signs and snow and such are already blinding at times with mine. I'm not racing through the desert....just driving backroads in the middle of the night...
I fully agree that the gucci brands throw more light...but at the <$100 price point, I am extremely satisfied.
thanks for the link! do you have any pics of it at night? some on/off shots would be awesome!

i have the Gucci... I mean, Baja Designs LED lights on my motorcycle, but space is a premium there and packaging is uber important. BUT, on the 2fitty, i have all the room in the world. A few of your nilights, one on the back and one on the front will work perfectly. Thanks!
Really like the looks of this, nice job! Do you mind sharing light bar model and how you mounted? Considering the same setup with the bar mounted below the Ford emblem.

For the install, I cut out 7 of the small plastic support pieces in between the middle and upper chrome sections. I did this thinking it would let me recess it further into the grill. It might of gained me a centimeter, so I don't recommend doing that as it isn't really necessary nor helpful to the mounting. I'll get some pics of the wiring and mounting, but it is two bolts that I drilled holes for in the chrome, and then snaked the wiring through the driverside headlight area and around the rear of the engine bay to the upfitter fuse box. The wiring harness it comes with includes a switch and a relay, but those aren't needed since we already have switches and relays in our trucks. After cutting those off of the harness, I wired it up to switch 6, and it works beautifully.

As promised, photos.
Drilled a hole on each side for the mount. Getting the bracket to lay flat was a little bit of a pain, but it will do it. I used the center rivet on the light bar to match with the center plastic support in the grill. Routed the cabling through a hole next to the radiator and driver side headlight. Drilled a few small holes in the plastic piece at the top of the engine bay to route zip ties through to hold the wiring to the rear of the engine bay on its way to the upfitter fusebox/
Been contemplating doing this on the lower section of grill, cutting out the plastic tabs.as well. Question. was this the 30" straight or curved light bar? What did you use?
What did you use to cut the plastic? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Been contemplating doing this on the lower section of grill, cutting out the plastic tabs.as well. Question. was this the 30" straight or curved light bar? What did you use?
Curved. I started the on the first tab with a dremel but there really isnt a need for a dremel when you have a better tool. I transitioned to a sawzall, and that made it a 2 minute job for the rest of them. As I mentioned, while my test fitting seemed like removing the tabs would allow it to recess further into the grill, it only gained me about a centimeter more in depth, so I don't feel it is a necessary modification to install the bar.
Are saying that removing the plastic tabs didnt allow you to set the light bar into the grill?
Correct. At least on the top side. It might be different lower on the grill. The lightbars height only lets it tuck in there right up to the spacers, so deleting them didn’t add any depth.
