1976? C8000 VIN decode
Hello - looking to pick up a vintage cab over. The VIN is D80DVB37001.
Appears to be:
D80 - C8000 tilt cab
D - 3208 CAT
V - Kentucky Plant
B37001 = 1976
Can anyone help with the rest of the tag? Thank you

D80 = C800 Diesel
D = Caterpillar V225-3208 636 CIC V8 diesel (that code is also used for the Cummins NTC350 for the '76 model year)
V = Kentucky Truck Plant
B37001 = 1976 series number
153 = 153 inch wheelbase
C = Special White
D802 = C800 diesel 27,500lbs GVWR
DC6 = cab and upholstery info. I do not have complete info and don't find the basic combo listed for a C series.
No transmission code. This truck was a special order, so the transmission was probably the special order or part of it.

FQ = Eaton model 17121 singel speed rear axle, 18,500lbs capacity, 6.14 ratio
N = Ford 9,000lb capacity front axle with power steering
27500 = 27,500lbs GVWR
760149
76 = Denver District Code
0149 = Special Order Number
If anything doesn't match, let me know and I will recheck.

Thank you 85E150! It does have a rescue body on it. The original color may have been yellow based on some research i did online.
