I am getting ready to raptor line a small section of my front bumper next week and was doing some research on how to remove the bumper and can’t seem to find anywhere on how to remove the plastic piece on top of the bumper. Does it just require a trim removal tool to pop it off or will it have to be taken off after I remove the bumper? Thanks for the help!!
It's held in with wedge shaped retainers. Easier to remove with the bumper off, however no guarantee it goes back on. Mine didn't and I ordered a new pad for mine.

awe ok so the clips broke so it is easier to replace? What was the cost for a new one?
The clips hate the cold as well. You can try a heat gun to warm the back side and maybe they release easier.
I am in southern California so not cold here right now, can i take it off while the bumper is still attached to the truck? I wanted to prep the bumper while it is still on to make it easier.
Maybe you can pry up the plastic a little and roll on the liner just underneath?
I'm no help because I just rolled it on up to that point. But I did it temporarily as I didn't prep the bumper at all. I figured if I didn't like it I could just peel it off and have LineX do it professionally.
