Wanting to I use a ARB portable swap between 2024 Super duty and our Jeep.
Planning to remove alligator clips from compressor and install Anderson SB50 connectors on both the truck and the compressor. I planning on wiring to Aux 6 which is rated for 40 amps.
my question is since the compressor kit has its own pressure switch, on off toggle and the truck having the relay for aux 6 to battery, does the red lead from compressor go to upfitter 6 wiring and the black to a chassis ground?

My ARB (single) compressor is on Aux 6 too. The compressor is wired straight to the battery and then grounded at the closest grounding point near the compressor. The switch for the compressor is wired to my Aux 6 switch. The load is not being carried by the Aux 6 wires. Mine is mounted above my spare and IIRC, I used 8 gauge wire. For whatever reason, I have had to change the 40A fuse in the compressor wire once... I don't know why it blew, but it did... I now carry an extra one.
I just realized you said yours is a portable that will go back and forth. Where are you putting the plug? I would just run a short length of wire from the battery + to the Anderson plug, and then a short length of wire to the nearest grounding point on the chassis. Then yes, run the switch wire to the Aux 6 wire.
That is a different setup than I’m looking at. I was talking about the arb single in a box, has its own power switch and is intended to connect direct to battery with alligator clips which I want to remove and replace with Anderson connectors.
just not sure what to do on truck side. Anderson connector with red/black get run where? Aux 6 wire and ground or elsewhere?
Why not wire Anderson plug straight to battery if unit has its own power switch. I imagine it would also have its own circuit protection . I think your making it more difficult than it needs to be

I thought about that but if I ever wanted to just say screw it and remove the compressor from box and mount it to truck it wouldn’t be wired correctly to utilize the upfitter for that type of setup.

If you were to make the compressor permanent, than you would simply need to bypass the current switch and wire it to the upfitter. The power supply would remain unchanged.
Edit to add: you don’t need to run the power through the upfitter switch at all. My trim compressor that I just installed draws more than the switch is rated, so I am pulling power directly from the battery. The compressor switch lead is then wired to UF6.
Here is the actual compressor I’m getting. Chose this as it’s free with points.
Just not sure how to wire this so it is wired to upfitter on the truck. For the second vehicle the jeep I will be wiring the Anderson connector directly to battery as the jeep doesn’t have any aux switches.
I agree with above, just wire an Anderson plug to the trucks battery and don’t worry about the switch wire for now. Use the one that comes on the compressor to flip it on or off. If you decide to hard wire it into your truck later, then you would just run the switch wire to your aux switch in the truck.
I mounted my ARB above the spare and ran a 2# cable to an Anderson connector to the rear bumper. I ran a number 6 cable tapped into the back of the Anderson connector to power the ARB with a trigger wire off the upfitter switches.
