E4OD issues??
I've got a 96 F-150 4x4 with the 5.8 and E4OD trans and I've developed an annoying condition. When I engage cruise whether it is 55 or 65 every few minutes after it warms up the RPM's will randomly increase about 200 rpm's and then settle back down. Fluid is nice and pink and the correct level and otherwise works great. I've disengaged the OD and can't say that it produces the same annoying rev. The truck has 229k miles on it and I'm not sure if anything has ever been done to the trans or even if it is what came in the truck originally. Other than that the truck runs and drives awesome. BTW, rpm is about 1500 on cruise at 55mph. Has anyone else had something like this or similar?

I've seen this happen from a bad brake light switch and from a bad TRS (Transmission Range Sensor.) The brake switch is near the top of the brake pedal under the dash. The TRS is on the driver's side of the transmission.
