Oil galley plugs

I’m back with another bonehead question on my 5.9L 360 engine. Sent the engine out for a hot bath and bead blast came back great. Except now I can’t remember where all the oil galley plugs go. How many should I have in there and are some tapered?

Believe their tapered, thats how they get tight. Should all be NPT threads. Just got mine back but they installed all new where they removed them.
count id think every threaded hole except the oil pressure sensor. I'll count mine and where they are tomorrow, but its a 400 not sure how different they may be.

Do you have the plugs?

Internally, all the oil galley plugs are press in, kinda like miniature freeze plugs.
There are three located in the valley at the back of the block. At the front there is one located in the valley and two that are accessed from the front, behind the cam gear.
Be sure to look carefully, one of the two is hidden, deeply recessed in the block.
All the external plugs have a pipe thread.

You can see the hidden plug deeply recessed past the distributor hole.

As stated above, do not miss the plug hidden by the distributor. Also make sure the cam plug is installed the right direction.

Good point! I've seen more than one installed backwards.
Not a real good picture, but this is how the rear cam plug is installed:
