I am just full of questions with this new rig. My 2004 that I just traded I had to put all of the components into it that I needed. This seems to have most of them. Albeit some tweaks are needed.
I just tested my 7pin in the bed for the 5er It's the factory 7 pin wiring.
Everything works a champ, with the exception of the 12v hot lead. Is there something I need to do in order to activate that pin?
What year is new truck? I have seen various other replies that involved truck running, foot on brake, placing it in gear. Some types of combinations that make the truck believe it's necessary to send power to the rear. I never checked on our 12 but know that it's charging when hooked up and running.
The module has to find a trailer before the system goes live so be hooked up, foot on brake, door closed. This stuff is in the owner's manual and I think has been posted in this forum in the past although I can't put my finger on it. You'll get nothing unless it can find a trailer.

Steve
I think you can also use a trailer plug 'tester' to make sure everything is working properly. It simulates a trailer being connected, so it should fool the truck into believe a trailer is there.
Check the fuse in the fuse panel under the dash. In my 04 chassis cab it is one on the larger square fuses check the owners manual or just check each of the square fuses. Sorry don't remember the amp rating or position of the fuse.

Thanks in advance
Sorry I didn't get back to this thread sooner. I had to go to south Florida to pickup my new to me camper. Just got home a couple of days ago. (Yeah, the "Fuel Crisis" was licking my heels the whole way up the coast. Actually saw >$4.00 a gallon for Diesel on the interstate.)
I can't tell through the trailer if it is working. Although it "Seems" to be. I will do some more testing to find out.
Just to answer a couple of the questions that I saw:
- Truck is a 2013 F450 6.7l DRW (Of course)
- I was testing with a tester that I bought about 15 years ago. It has all indicating lights, but I don't know if it has any cross overs to make the truck think it actually has a trailer on. I will test that today.
- I just bought the truck and unfortunately the owner's manual is missing. I'll download the fuse panel diagram and take look. I absolutely HATE where they put the fuse panel in this year in the passengers kick panel area. Ugh!
