Did you have heat before you changed it? What is the temperature guage showing now that you changed it? If you also flushed the system, you could of perhaps dislodged some dirt/sludge and it could be hung up in the heater core. When the engine is hot, are the lines going into the heater core at the firewall hot? Give us some more info, and I'm sure we can help.

My dad had a simalar problem with his 93 F-150. It turned out to be his water pump. The fingers were shot in the pump. This was just about 3 weeks ago. He would turn on the heat and the windows would fog up but no heat. The pump wasn't leaking or anything like that. He's got plenty of heat now.

Yes I had heat before changing thermostat. Didn't flush line but lost a lot of antifreeze when I changed stat. Had a bad seal intially. Lines to heater core are hot. Guage reads between hot and cold but nearer the low end of the guage. So what might be the problem?

Plugged heater core if your heater hoses are hot OR maybe the climate control is stuck to cool so its not letting the hot air come through just the cold

Easy. Disconnect both hoses to the core. Hold a garden hose, with no nozzle on it, up to one of the heater core tubes. Just hold it up by hand, that will limit the pressure. Water should gush out of the other tube. Then put water in the other tube to flush it out the other way. If you want, put a loose section of heater hose on one of the tubes to direct the flushed water down towards the ground.

I just replaced the 'core on my truck lastnight. THey are 17 bucks at auto zone, and it took 10 min. Faster then trying to flush it all out! Plus if you have so much crud in there to block heat, its gonna start leaking on you soon anyway. Its better to just reclace it. SEAN!

That's the great thing about these trucks.. Easy to replace heater core.

When I got my truck it wouldn't heat up, and I opened the heater core box to find it leaking. Anyway, I replaced the core for 15 bucks, and when I was in there, I found the real cause of my problems: A book of matches had fallen into the air ductwork and was preventing the flap that directs the heat to the vents from shutting all the way.
