Hello, I am doing a brake job on a 1965 Ford Condor motorhome. It runs on a P500 chassis and has a 4.9 300 straight six engine. I have found all the parts except the rear brake springs. They seem to be listed at Napa but out of stock and I’ve contacted them and it looks like the manufacturer has stopped making them and that was the last place they were last known to be available. So....we are trying to see if any other heavy duty vehicles used these same springs? Back then everything was color coded, these are Orange. I will attach pictures. This was the last known available option which is now unavailable. According to Napa, the actual spring measures 2-3/4” long This is what they look like mounted so if anyone has any bright ideas on how to use a different spring with a different hook setup, I’m ALL ears, because next stop is searching the salvage yards!
With that photo I'd also shop around the heavier duty truck shops, might even be a few close by who specialize in brake parts. Bus garages, RV chassis repair shops---has to be someone with the parts of availability through ordering? If you find them buy an extra set just in case............
Oddly enough those springs look familiar but I could be misremembering something I thought I saw once. Sorry I can't be more helpful and best of luck in this search.
Have you tried Mac's auto parts? FYI, I would think you could use the blue springs as well, just cut and shorten them up to match the length of the red ones.
