Holy crap! Yeah I won’t do that, the oil adding is actually the part I am the most uncertain about. I will assess how much comes out of my compressor and accumulator and add at least that much, but I can’t be sure how much has leaked out or is elsewhere in the system. I’ll probably just add a couple ounces for safe measure.

That's why the best course of action is to drain and flush the whole system and then refill per spec. Otherwise, follow the excerpt from the factory service manual I posted earlier.

Well at this point I’ve resealed my compressor and am ready to fill with oil, my o ring kit and bulk oil jug comes tonight in the mail so I’ll get to that probably tomorrow.
When I had the compressor apart, to my surprise NO Oil came out of it. Once I noticed it had been leaking, I didn’t run it much if at all, but I inspected the internals anyway and everything looks fine, no damage due to improper oiling.
SHO89, since there’s no tip for what to do if the compressor is dry of oil, do you have the factory spec for the FS-10 compresssor for oil capacity? I need to get myself a service manual..
I mentioned that I have not opened my OE compressor, which one day I will, but I never had a measurable amount of oil come out of it either, I don't believe there is a sump. The drier I pictured above seems to be the biggest distributor of oil to the system components based on it's bottom siphon tube. I followed the oil adding instructions as posted above, same as my 2001 shop manual, and the only place to add oil was the suction port, unlike my Chevy compressors that have a oil fill plug going to the sump. But that was a no go. I have no issues with my system, and it cools fine, but I need to crack open my original one to see where it holds oil if any.

Great thanks, got my new jug of PAG 46 oil today and my o ring kit. I’ll be pulling the dryer off tomorrow to see how much comes outta there.
