ac compressor

Can anyone give me any tips on changing a AC compressor on a 1999 F-150 with a 5.4.

Changing it shouldn't be too hard. I assume the system has lost all it's freon? If it hasn't you need to take all the freon out first before you start wrenching on it.

If the compressor grenaded, replace the condensor, the acculator, and the o-tube. Flush everything else with a proper flush agent. Replace every O-ring in the system while it's open.

Vacuum properly and recharge.
