I have a 6" drop axle flip kit for the rear to put on and I'm going to get 3" lowering springs for the front and drop beams...
what I want to know is will that sit even? any one have pictures of doing a similar drop?
what static drop setups have anyone you done? and will I need to c-notch the frame for 6" drop? If you have a link to a forum where I can read through and get these questions answered feel free to send that as well.
sorry if questions have been asked a thousand times! I'm new to the forum and new to classic fords but don't worry I wont ask about getting good gas mileage in my 390 haha
It was suggested to me to measure the distance between the top of my leaf springs & the bottom of my frame on my 66’ when I considered a axle flip. I barely have room for the axle, I would have to install a C notch on mine.
My buddy has a 66’ just like mine, but he bought it finished. The previous owner flipped the rear axle, but instead of C notching the frame, they cut a 6” pipe in half, notched the frame for it, & welded it in solid.
You might want to do some measuring
I have a 64 and did an axle flip. Used a 7 or 8 in pipe for the C notch and I still bottom out on larger bumps in the road. I think you'll have no choice but to notch the frame if you flip the axle.
