Hey guy! I am new to this whole forum thing but I needed some advice. I currently own a 71 ford f100 ranger long bed 2wd. I am wanting to lower it by flipping the rear springs. How much of a drop will I get? I am also looking to drop the front by cutting coils. Will I need to get drop I-Beams? Can someone please help me. It will be appreciated. Thanks friends!
AIM and DJM beams will both give you 3" of drop in the front. As HIO Silver said a hanger flip will net you about 5" but changes your pinion, you can also do a half flip if you don't need that much drop. A axle flip (putting axle on top of the spring) will give you 5 3/4" drop.
I cut 1 &1/2 coils off mine camber was a little strong but still in the (ok) range
in the rear I did a half flip on the hanger and (yes) the pinion angle was strong
you can slide shims in to correct it
I just started installing a crown vic clip in mine less money but a little harder than dream beams
and Im flipping the rear axel to the top of the spring in the rear and C notching the frame this time
here is a link to my build Project Midnight
