I have an 81 ford f150 stepside and i was wanting to lower the front of it, maybe the back too, but i dont want to slam it to the ground, all i want is to bring it down a few inches and give it a slight rake for a nice stance and slightly better gas milage.
where are you getting your drop kit from. I found a set of drop beams that you are talking about but they are $600. That is more than i want to spend on it at the moment. If they were $200 or something like that i might think about it more.
thats the kind of price range, or you go dream beams 3 times that price or maybe get lucky on ebay... another alternative is to use just drop springs, up to 2 inch drop is ok before you start having any other dramas with alignments...
235/60R15's on the front and 275/60R15's on the rear (about 1-2" shorter than a 235/75, but way wider, looks a lot better in person as that width fits the fender perfect), and the rim size is 15x8. In that picture the amount of drop is approximately 3/4, as i used a flat spacers under the spring along with a 2" drop spring, but the spring was sitting on the stablizler mount, so what when i stiwched to a set of i-beams with the camber/caster adjustment i put the proper spacer back in the front and the front tires are to short, when i get new tires for it this summer once the snow is gone i will probably go with a 235/65 up front.
