Trans M5OD Manual

I have a 1996 f-150 with a 302 M5OD. it is shifting a little rough from 1 to 2 it almost has like two bites to it and you have to shift it slow why??

Sounds like the syncro is going bad. Check your fluid level and look for leaks around the case.

Did you ever get the 3 plugs in the shift cover plate replaced? Those are horribly notorious for leaking. Once the fluid level gets a lil' low, those synchros are normally the first to go, as they are a lot softer than the rest of the tranny. Problem with those leaky plugs, is it normally only does it while driving, and not while parked. So it's really hard to find.
Read this tech article about the plugs.

I've got the same problem, and it was a result of low fluid level as well.
