Coil mount style

My '66 has the 352 engine. I have the Pertronix Ignitor I module, no ballast resister. Because if the lack of ballast resister and Pertronix module requires a 1.5 ohm coil. The stock coil mounts horizontally and thus an epoxy coil is recommended.

The only 1.5 ohm epoxy filled coil I have found is the Pertronix and I've had one fail and read some stories of their lack of quality. I also spoke with one of their tech support people and they crowed about their products being made in the USA and the coils are plainly marked "made in china"

I'd like to change the orientation of the coil using the stock mounting point and eliminate the need for the the epoxy filled design.

Anybody discovered any mounting brackets that use the existing mounting hole in the intake manifold?

TIA

If you want it to stand up right, this might work with one ear removed

Those 1.5 ohm Pertronix coils come either way epoxy or oil filled. Look on Summit for 1.5 ohm coils. I have never had a Pertronix coil fail. But anything can break.

I put mine on the front of the head with the stock bracket. It seems happy there.
