probably bad amp behind right rear panel.
could just be a fuse for it check fuses under hood also.

Yes it is the factory radio. The power turns on. I can change the stations. Everything is normal just no sound from the speakers.
I agree, take a look at the fuse page in your owners manual. My 95 Taurus has 2 radio fuses & 2 radio grounds. One ground is under the hood near driver side shock tower & one under the dash near the steering column.(yours might be different) Check the fuses & the grounds. An electrical trouble shooting manual from www.helminc.com would come in handy.
sorry. don't know which fuse.
if you have a test light dc. i turn on key, hook test light to good ground, then check each side of fuse for power.
if one side dose'nt light up pull fuse to see if it's blown in half.
check all fuses even under hood
is explorer new to you? did it ever had sound?
is it an eddie beur-bad spell-?
on the back of radio did you have 2 large plugs?
1 grey 1 black or just 1 large black and 1 small plug look like

The Explorer is new to me. I know the last owner had the radio out and replaced it with another factory radio. Obviously this did not help the problem. I figured I could figure it out so he did not find out what the real problem was. It is not an edddie bauer.
