Entire fuel line replacement

Hi All,

After having multiple rubber fuel lines rot out over the last few years and nearly burn down my truck, I'm ready to replace the entire line with CuNi hard tubing and PTFE hose. My problem is, I can't seem to find AN fitting compatible fuel pumps, tank selector valves, or sending units. Everything I've found online has plastic molded barbs or very short metal tubing with bubble flares. It seems to be all made for standard rubber hose. My question is, how do I find stuff that can accept AN fittings when it comes to these components? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks for info, seems crazy to me that it's so hard to find components that aren't old fashioned hose barbed. Especially tank selector solenoids.

I know, right? A kit would be sweet. In a previous life I designed and installed mechanical rooms for multi-zoned hydronic heating systems so I really get where you're going with this. It would be fun for sure. Post back with any progress even if it's something that you might use.

Thanks EQCMCAT It's been a while since I've looked at their stuff. That is some nice stuff and their catalog has definitely grown.

I found an interesting solenoid valve on McMaster made from PTFE that has UNF threads. That should work as a tank selector. A guy at work was suggesting I delete the valve and run off both tanks at the same time. I'd hate to give up the convenience of being able to switch though.

The biggest hurdle now would be the sending unit from the gas tank. It has metal tube with a bubble flair. I could always cut the bubble off and re-flare for AN Tube nut. Almost there!

At the end of the day, I wonder if i'm just over thinking this. I'd bet "push-on" hose that's PTFE-lined would probably work over the bubble/hose flares and I could just clamp it.
Looking at Earls Hose and push-on ends, they are flared in a manner that is very similar to my tank selector valve. Maybe I could lube it up and be gentle (giggity) so I don't damage the lining.

You can't just give up your selector valve, which ever tank runs empty first will make the fuel pump suck air. The factory Ford system worked fine. Just a few short lengths of the hose at connection points. I cringe when I see a rubber hose going from fuel pump to carb. Just keep up on maintenance and change out those short hoses when your flushing antifreeze. Yes on the bubble at end of tubing, you can do it with a double flare tool. I don't like doing tubing and dread the job but when you get it right your proud.
