catalytic converter

Had check engine light come on and codes said right bank emissions out of range-mechanic said to replace O2 sensors and converter. The truck has ran fine with no loss of power and has 100k miles. One person recommended a fuel additive Cataclean-didn't help. Does this sound like whole system needs replaced or may O2 sensors since no loss of power? Funny thing is this happened as the person I sold it to as he was driving home after buying from me. Yes he is a friend and I want to make it right for him but not to replace parts that still have life to them. Thanks, Tom

Normally caused by low grade misfires. Hopefully it's not running original plugs! The cats can be replaced and are available as a direct fit as long as you don't have to be CA compliant.

I don't know what codes were displayed-mechanic didn't share that-2014 Lariat and the plugs had been replaced at the 100k mark. Got another person looking at it now so we'll see what they come up with and I'll get codes. Thanks
