Injector seals leaking

Not quite sure if I should have my injector seals replaced. Passenger side bank appears to be leaking. I’m worried that this could somehow fail and leave me stranded.

Any suggestions?

What engine do you have? You might want to create a signature to include info about your ride.

if it is a diesel and less than 5 years/100K then it is a warranty job, get it repaired, but as stated, what year and motor and how many miles?

Thanks.... I have. 2015 F-350 Lariat FX4. The engine is a 6.7 L diesel with 125k miles. Out of warranty. What would you recommend?

If I were to do this job then I would be putting in new injectors.

You also need to verify that is in fact what is leaking.

If the injectors are replaced, I read that the serial numbers have to be programmed using a tool the dealer has

yes injectors need to be programmed using the ford software. Although I have no experience, I wonder if forescan can do it too?

The numbers on the injectors is called "IQA". They get this "number" when they are built and tested at the factory that builds them for Ford. The IQA has to do with the flow rating and contribution balance to the 8 cylinders.

When you say the injectors are leaking, is that fuel into the cylinders or fuel onto the valve cover/intake manifold? The injectors are not hydraulic/oil actuated/operated. The injectors are electrical (piezo electric).

Is this mechanic knowledgeable of the 6.7 fuel injection system? There have been very few threads on the 6.7 injectors on FTE. None that I remember about them leaking.

Are the seal leaks where you can photograph it or them?

Sounds more like you have the high pressure fuel line leaking than an injector. Look at these photos. The high pressure fuel lines can be replaced or tightened.

Don’t know about the 6.7, but I would imagine it’s the same as the 6.4 , the fuel line to the injector has a drag torque and one time use lines. Something to check into.

was there any fuel system work done on this engine?

We sell those injectors, but unless your injector split in half I would look at the fuel lines as the culprit.
