I can't believe in this day and age there isn't a national standard. The lowest octane is 87 on up to 94, then your 104 true blue. I saw 85 octane all over. One pump in texas was 100% gas, so I pumped in 91, and Wow! Great mileage and power. Exactly what should happen. A stretch from rotan, new Mexico to denver on I 25, I was getting 15.6 mpg at 65 mph pulling the loaded trailer. Mind you that was with 4.30 gears.... In iowa, flat i80, 8.7 mpg......

Iowa isn't really flat across I80....eastern iowa isn't as bad as western Iowa, but western Iowa is all hills...now Nebraska up until the I76 split is pretty darn flat.

I'm under the impression that high altitude 85 octane is the same stuff as low altitude 87 octane. When you try to burn it with little oxygen it measures differently.
