winter gas or something wrong for such a mpg drop?
i really dont remember my truck dropping the mpg so bad during winter before or if its just that im taking notice more now but i usually get about 270-280 miles out of a tank of gas. Which is about 11.5 mpg but for some reason the past four tanks of gas im only getting between 200-210 miles out of a tank netting me 7.3mpg!!!!!! Other then the drop in mpg the truck runs awesome and isnt having no ill side effects, so im stumped and PO that im getting gas almost twice ever week now!

My v10 has suffered since colder weather. Used to average 10.2-10.6 on my normal drive unloaded during the week. Last 3 tanks have been from 8.2-9.4 of course I'm idling slightly more and 4x4 in the last week with snow. I didn't go to my normal station the last 3 weeks either. Even my lie-o-meter was fairly close for the last 3 tanks. Filled up today on my normal station and my lie o meter is up to 10.6. I think certain companies with a higher ethanol blend get worse mileage cause ethanol is basically alcohol. Try a station like Exxon or BP. E15 doesn't necessarily mean 15% ethanol either, just means up to 15%...sometimes less sometimes more I'm sure.

no all the stations have signs now in my area that stat, gas has up to 15% ethanol in it. And i buy from three different stations BUT all stations get their gas from the local oil refinery in Paulsboro NJ. Funny when you see a BP, Mobil, Chevron, Ross Fogg etc deliver trucks all in the refinery getting gas! LOL

There are a lot of nuts on TV. This one asserts E-15 damages engines and Ford won't cover damage due to E-15 on warranty claims.
