Seeing plenty of 3 wire tail/brake light sockets, where are the 2 wire backup/reverse sockets at ? There must be a generic out there, im fixin to rebuild or replace all of my lighting, clean up the grounds etc.... im missing one rear backup socket and the other is beyond repair, old corroded...etc..
Just went through the same problem. As far as I could find, nobody makes them anymore. I ended up using a metal one for a Chrysler I got from a local supplier. I took the lense with me to trial fit it. It fit fine but I'm not sure how long it will last as the back of it is open to moisture, but time will tell. I just looked it up and I see there is a weatherproof model but the one I got sure didn't seem like it. I think it's a Canadian company but the site for the product is https://picocanada.com/view_product/5463-BP.. Pretty sure they don't manufacture them so they should be available in the States.
I went through this awhile back. Those old original style sockets with the push -turn and lock bulbs are cheesy. The bulbs don't want to stay locked in and make contact. I converted all of my tail and reverse lamp sockets using ones from a 1996 Ford truck at the local Pullapart. ( I think it was a 96 model) They have the wedge style bulbs which stay in the sockets and make better contact than the old 1157/1156 bulbs. . Just splice them in with a little heat shrink.
Thanks for the inputs, gonna order up some stuff tonight, clean up all the grounds, even looking at led bulbs for the tail/brake, the stock style lacks brightness in the sun..
