Hi gang, when I crank my 360FE when cold, occasionally I hear a tap. If I shut the engine right off and start it again the tap is gone. It only does this when cold. So, I must be catching something on either up or down stroke. Is this a telltale sign of a bad lifter, something out of adjustment, or something else totally?
Just my opinion, specially on an FE, if thats all you got, drive your tuck and count your blessings, make sure your using a Zinc additive with your oil, use a heavy oil and roll on...
