My question is did anybody order the optional trailer TPS system with their truck and already had the camera system installed I received my truck the other day I was going through the boxes I came across the trailer TPMS but it seemed to have a lot of extra components that I already had on the truck I was wondering if anybody had to deal with this installation before ? Thank you
You get a new connector for the bumper, a storage socket for the trailer that the camera / TPMS cable plugs into when not in use, a 7 pin to 4 pin trailer adapter, a TPMS receiver and a wiring harness for the trailer side.
If your truck already has the round camera / TPMS connector on the bumper there is nothing to do on the truck. All of the rest of the parts are for the trailer.

On a 2024 F-350 Limited, I recently installed the trailer camera and trailer TPMS kit, part number LC3Z-1A189-A. I also installed the yaw sensor on my fifth wheel. I am not using a trailer camera at this time. Ford OEM TPMS transmitters on 17.5 aluminum wheels and Goodyear G114 tires on the trailer,
I originally installed the Ford TPMS receiver box on my fifth wheel body. The TPMS sensors programmed normally and reported reliably. To reduce the complexity, I relocated the Ford TPMS receiver box away from the trailer body to the underside of my fifth wheel hitch, thus about 7 feet further away from the trailer wheels. There was no difference in TPMS function. The trailer tires TPMS displayed instantly, perfectly, and reliably.
I’m now traveling and after 700 miles the TPMS worked perfectly. Without anything else changing, today I got the “trailer with tire pressure monitor capability not detected” message in DIC. All wiring harness connections feel secure.
Can we determine from this information if the TPMS receiver itself is not being detected- meaning the problem is with the TPMS receiver and/or wiring harness. Or is this.the message for when tire sensors are not communicating effectively with the receiver? I find it odd that none of the four are responding. Trying to get a grasp of what’s going on before I start changing things. Thanks for your thoughts.
