Console Ideas!!
1964 f100 , column shift.
moving ahead with my Mustang bucket seat swap. The seats are getting recovered and while that’s getting done, any ideas for a center console. I, of course have searched for the 65 ranchero console, but that’s impossible, so, and suggestions? Ideas? Pictures?

You mentioned Ranchero which is likely different but here's an earlier Falcon Sprint Futura one. I think these look very classic. Price of this one is not what I'm suggesting but the visual might give an idea.

Go to Pick'n'Pull type yards, and look for a very late eighties to very early nineties Ford Ranger EXT Cab with buckets, they had a decent Console, which had the little spring loaded recesses to keep your change in. Best part is, they were under the console lid so the Meth Heads couldn't see it, and therefore wouldn't break your window for a couple bucks in change. My current 2007 Ranger EXT console has the change holders out in plain view on the very front edge of the console, so they've never ever been used......

I am using cardboard and making a template for the tank area and bought some black un backed black carpet, un backed makes it very easy to work with. After I cut the carpet I’ll have it bound on the edges. I really don’t want to add grommets and screw it to the truck, I think that’s original? I was considering heavy duty Velcro? But I’m open to ideas on installing that.

Yes! It was very informative. I studied and read everything. I was a little concerned about the tracks where the vender says slight shimming is needed, but am very confident it will go smooth. My interior is Academy blue with a black rubber floor . I was considering getting the seats done in the Sierra blue vinyl with a new black carpet and black carpet over the tank, I’m making that myself. But that maybe to many shades of blue, blue dash, blue carpet, blue seats etc. so I opted for a black rug, black tank carpet and black seats. I feel that’s better. I will paint the step black as well. The trucks black so that will flow nice.

Yeah $150 for avoiding having to use a plastic mallet to set snaps is too much.

$16 for the setter kit at your local Tandy Leather store, will do chrome plated and brass snaps. I use a dual face hammer, one side is yellow poly, the other is hard rubber., around $15
