According to the window sticker that you linked earlier...
Which is this truck....
The 550 that you are looking at has 4.88s. The Payload Plus Package and 19,500 lbs GVWR package are also give away clues, besides the listing of 4.88 on the window sticker.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would have some input on what they think a fair trade in value and a fair direct sale value would be for my truck. I am looking at upgrading to an F550 from my 450. It is a 2020 7.3 Crew Cab 179" wheelbase 4x4 4.88s XL trim 12,500 miles in pretty much like new condition. 16500 gvwr with snow plow prep package, XL value package. It has a CM aluminum skirted flatbed. I was offered 40k on trade for it and wanted to know if that is fair. I think it sounds about right depending on the deal on the new truck but obviously would like to get every dollar I can. Thank you for any input!
doesnt sound right to me.
a few us us with recent low mile purchases (2019 and newer, 15K miles or less) are getting what we paid offered to us. I was offed 700 over what I paid on my 2019 f-450 lariat ultimate which now has 8k miles.
also, did you check with your insurance company.....if its a personal policy vs a commercial policy...my insurance does not insure over 15K GVWR. so I can do an f-450 with a 14k GVWR, but not an f-550 which is over the GVWR..
Y2KW57 I missed that, I was looking at several and that was closest but I actually did not realize it had 4.88s. That may or may not change my mind, I would have to take it on a drive and see how it does at 70. I would not tow heavy over 70. I know my 7.3 is still fairly quiet at 70 even though its over 2k rpms. Thank you for pointing that out though
Speakerfritz I am in southern Illinois and your story is what I have heard from many people. I have a commercial policy so the insurance isnt a worry for me but I would expect a premium increase of course.
