Question Estimated Insurance Value

I'm looking for a estimated price (value) of my 2012 F250 4x4 xlt .
The reason is it was totaled this week and now looking for info. on how the ins. comp. is going to access value. I looked at Kelley Blue Book , but told by others ins. comp. goes by some other books or reference guides. So where and what are they? I had some extras on the truck like the Boss plow package, toolbox, heavy duty undercoating and so on, all cost $ to replace and does insurance adjuster even care ? So looking for way to see if I can tell them different books include extra cost for extras on truck and get the best price., The truck is already gone so can't have anyone else give me detailed or pictures to submit to insurance co. just trying to prepare before they try to mail me a check. Still have to find a new one Truck in price range.
Thanks , Tdraym

Did you owe money on your truck before it was totalled? If you did and you carried "gap coverage" insurance on it you should at least have the note paid off by insurance, even if you were upside down on the loan. Let us know what happens. Good luck.

I would suggest you research the availability of similar trucks in your area...that will give you an idea of what the truck is worth. Your insurance company will probably try to low ball you on the value in order to get you to accept a quick settlement. Generally it is not a good idea to accept their first offer. Your insurance company/agent should be willing to go to bat for you. Remember...insurance companies make their money by collecting premiums...not by paying claims.

I would goto NADA (nadaguides.com) and Kelly Blue Book (KBB.com) to get what they say the value of the truck is..

You can add options like the plow and mileage..I don't think they value the toolbox..

Then like noted above go to Craigslist and try and find the miscellaneous items for sale.. Also check on what similar truck prices

That should give you a good idea of what the value is..

When you get the insurance companies estimated values make sure they are comparing apples to apples..

Years ago when my truck was stolen they were giving me the lowest price on a used plow, but I argued those were crap and not in the condition mine was.. Took some time but I got what it was worth..

Good luck

After looking at Kelley blue book and NaDa looked at black book prices and Edmunds found an average of about 22k . So I had an Idea what to talk to the Ins. agent about , after pointing out the plow set up and low mileage, Hoping he was going to not low ball me, well he was a nice guy on the phone and I didn't even get mad at him when he told me 26K+ after my deductible, So it only took 3 days after I mailed in my title and received a check from them. Everything went better then expected, Already driving my new 2017 F250 4x4 thanks

Glad you're already in a new Ford truck. It's usually a PITA to deal with insurance.
