wont turn off by key
Plz help..... 1999 7.3 f350
Wont turn off by key.,,,. starts fine etc.. have to pull the large #27 fuse under hood for IDM to stop.....
Once stopped the airbag and battery light stays on the dash and have to disconnect batteries so does not drain.... nothing else stays on, radio turns off etc ....
Have tried replacing GPS Glow Plug Solenoid, Have changed ignition box and also tried removing it and switching off by hand, no good..... swapped out gem, no good.... turned key off and removed wires to waste gate solenoid and also tried removing alternator plug.... neither worked... swapped solenoids around etc, no good.... when i removed #30, the bcm relay, it click even with key off so obviously powered even when key off if that helps anyone. driving me absolutely crazy.......

Had this happen to a Pontiac i owned years ago and it turned out to be the key switch gear inside the steering column had broken into. Key switch would push the gear down but would no pull it back up to open the contacts.

The PCM has power even if you pull the fuse?
Can you see any non-OEM wiring like for accessories or lights or anything that might be suspect?
Is this a new to you vehicle?
Did the problem just occur or dud it show up after servicing or something else happened?
