I'm about to order my F350. I noticed today I can order the Warn winch with my current configuration without the Tremor package. I was planning to get an aftermarket steel bumper (probably from Warn) and a winch, so I was going to order the Snow Plow / Camper combo package for the extra weight. I am also planning on a lighter weight camper, the reason for the truck, but I'm wondering if the snow plow package is now overkill. The special Warn winch prepared for Ford weighs 131 pounds.
I understand spring swaps are pretty inexpensive, but it would be nice to dial it in now and maybe save a few bucks.
Just get it, think resale value.
I got the snow plow package and will never plow with it.... but it's nice to have the option.
I also like the level out from it
Interesting that the winch is only available to be configured on the short-box trucks, but not the long box ones. Considering that portion of the frame should be the same between the two trucks, I don't see why it isn't.
I got the camper package for the sway bar and 3.55 axle ratio. I don't have a truck camper.
I've had a winch and winch mount on a prior truck. It was a 1/2 ton though. It really needed the stronger springs due to the increase in front end weight. One a Superduty I'm not so sure that stronger springs are all that necessary, but if you're planning to get a truck camper, at least get the camper package and you're covered.
