Question C4 Valve Body

I have a few ?'s:
(1) Can a valve body be removed/replaced with the trans in place?
(2) What is involved in removing the car shift arm and installing a truck shift arm (in truck) ?
(3) Where can a truck shift arm be purchased?
(4) Where can the shift linkage (column shift) be purchased?

BTW, the trans is from a 1979 Ford Fairmont w/302.

The shift rod that connects to the column shift and connects the trans shift arm.

A shift rod that may work is a D3TA-KA, that is the engineering number stamped on it, not a part number.
Manual lever that may work are D3TP-CA for column neutral safety.
Good luck hunting. Those parts have been obsolete for decades.
I think you are running head on into the problems you encounter if you don't use a donor truck to do that sort of swap. Trying to gather up all the right parts piecemeal may take months of searching. And even then who knows if they will work with your particular installation.
Now I'm going to vent a little you are asking someone to do all the research and tell you exactly what parts will work and where to buy them for a truck they have never seen.
If you are mixing parts and pieces from different years you need to buy and read the shop manuals for all those years. All the linkages and everything else about how they go together are well represented in those books.

The conversion has already been done. I have a lokar kit for it, but, I would like to keep it simple by using an oem one.

I do have the manuals (1, 2, 3 and 4). Yes, there is a section on auto transmissions but, I don't believe it discusses how to change out the shift arm. I know nothing about the internals of a transmission (manual or auto). That is why I posted the ?'s here. I just wanted to see what is involved in the swap BEFORE I
I attempt to do the job myself.
.

If I have insulted feelings or inconvenienced anyone, I apologize.

I just don't to get involved with something I am a total dumb *** about.

if you don't want or can't help the guy read the question and move on. His truck is obviously modified and he is not going to find all his answers in a book.

Yes he will. You just have to open the book and read. And I did answer his questions. It's up to him to find the parts.

Of course, the manuals 1, 2, 3 and 4 for 1966 are not going to help with a transmission from 1973 or newer - which is at least part of what Crop Duster is pointing out. A person would need the manuals from the years of transmission being worked on in this case in order to have a more complete picture. That's where you can start to get into a lot of research. Crop Duster deserves a BRAVO! for assisting so many with similar questions in the past. He's one of the few who seems to have both worked on a variety of atuomatic transmissions and is willing to share his knowledge from the research he has done. A rare combination these days.
