4r100 shift flare

i have a 2000 f250,it has the delay from 3 to 4th gear or shift flare they call it,i wanted to put one of those kits,in it to fix it,do i also have to put a shift kit in it,at the same time,i am,a little confused about this.

You might consider getting a tuner, which has shift firmness mode... You engine will run stronger and your trans will shift quicker...Just plug it in to your computer port under the dash.. and your done.. Mine is:

A tuner will help the issue a bit but one of the best options is to upgrade the valve body in your trans. Its really easy to do and affordable too. Riffraff Diesel: John Wood 4R100 Valve Body

Also, the John Wood valve body complements a tune really well.
