Thanks for the suggestions, the more I read about this topic the more I realize the carb is going to have to be tweaked and tuned regardless, and some of the more affordable options seem fun at this point, I have a basic holley sitting on a bench and the eddy on the engine, so maybe the answer for me is to keep the Eddy cruiser friendly and make the Holley into the offroad model, I dig the 2 barrel Motorcraft also and was reading a bunch on that setup, but then looking at an adapter plate on the intake, just to bring it back were it was when it was made
This is where the Summit M2008 is a good option. It is a redo on the Holley 4010 which is a holleyized version of Autolite 4100 which is the 4BBL version of the Autolite Motorcraft 2100/2150.
The Summit M2008 is built by Holley for Summit and uses all Holley parts. So basically all the advantages that the 4100 2100/2150 have off-road the Summit M2008 has also.
Thanks Rich, was looking at adapters on the ole fleabay, thanks Matt im going to look into that summitt setup also, everything is setup for the 4 barrel right now and i have extra spacers, gaskets, hose.....
Check out my New 71 Bronco thread, I go into picture detail on the issues I had when I went with a Edelbrock dual plane 4bbl intake and went to put a MC 2bbl carb on it. The cheap Mr Gasket 4bbl to 2bbl adapter did NOT work.
Those Super Sucker adapters have a great rep in the dirt track/stock car world my buddy is in.
Thanks for the input fellas, how do the mods to the Eddy affect daily cruising ? Guess im asking for the best of both worlds, but something in between would be the ticket. Love the idea of that Holley TA, that dude is expensive.
I can say all the tuning I've done has made everything improve both off & on road. The only thing I can't speak to is mileage. Truck is running beadlocks now & only sees road to get to trails. I do ahve both a 2150 & a Holly 500cfm 2-barrel laying around that I could play with if I ever got the time. Be interesting to see differences.....
That said, I am thinking about going a different route than & wheeler with it since these seem to be going up in value. Originally paid $2k for it in decent stock condition (other than some rust) about 5 years ago............
Damn ! thats a serious rig .. Talked to a buddy at work who is building a dent and a bump along with a TBird right now and had some experience with the truck avenger carb on an old bronco and said the thing was still running when it rolled over .... so another kudos for the TA apparently

Not necessarily a good thing unless your in a Stunt airplane. LOL
Funny not so funny side note, the Holley carb that was on my engine when i bought my truck 5 years ago was an OLD holley, the metal was the old faded "copper" looking....anyhow I wanted to have it professional rebuilt and i didnt have the guts to do it myself yet, so i sent it to a "reputable" family owned shop in NY.... I let about a month go by and called the owner and he said "oh yea we got that carb be a few more weeks" long story short he eventually stopped answering my calls and i never seen the carb again, never paid anything, but i really wanted to carb that came with the truck to get back on the truck, if i lived anywhere close i would have paid a visit......Not sure if that Holley was "special" and they wanted it or they just didnt care enough to deal with it or me
Yes do not be getting the FTE posse called on ya, then 6th gen boys are cantankerous. Ship them parts fool!
I am more than happy to go check out any Craigslist/Ebay/Bring A Trailer listed Ford truck and go look over any Ford truck for any one. Now I mean come on now with in reason, most anywhere in Missouri, Central & Eastern Oklahoma, Central and & Eastern KS and north Arkansas. And I will not snipe ya on it either.
And I have a trailer to haul it at least back to my house until you can arrange shipping. Well hell for the right loaded and unloaded hauling price I could deliver. COULD is NOT WILL. I am not wanting in the U ship buiss.
If you send a automotive part to a business and it is their job to rebuild it and take your money and ship it back. You dang sure better rebuild and ship or just tap out (say you are a failure as a business because your dog ate your business plan) and just ship it back. I hate shady business....

I'm with you there brother. We come from a time where helping our neighbors was a way of life not a calculation in a business model. Keep paying it forward. When you due back?
I've got a truck avenger 670 on my rig, but it never gets real sideways. I'll let you know the results if it does. Might go drive it along a ditch for kicks.... That was more a just in case type purchase. Betty is a LWB SC bus, lol
