I’m also thinking about doing power steering for my f68 so if anyone can steer me in the right direction after reaching out to a couple of different guys I’m being told to do an electric power steering kit and before I purchase that I want to be sure that’s the best way to go so my list of needs are
brakes all around all four corners prefer to go to discs a conversion kit
power steering - should I go electric or mechanical? Where to get it?
Hey guys I’m new to this and need some help I have a 1950 f68 I believe is a one ton truck it has a 1977 inline 6 300 ci engine out of a Ford truck runs really good but I would like to upgrade brakes all four corners so I can feel good about my son driving this someday soon it’s an 8 lug truck and I’m having a hard time locating a conversion kit for it any help would be really appreciated guy thanks in advance
Welcome . We like pics . It would probably be better if you started a thread of your own so the answers you get won't be intermixed with the op's thread and will make it much easier for you . I am no expert on the older trucks so I'm sure someone will be along to help . I believe from other conversations that the aftermarket disc brake kits will fit up to the 1 ton . Your differential does not appear to be a ford unit , most likely a Dana but someone will be along to verify . As far as the power steering the electric is looking like a nice option that I would certainly investigate but there's not allot of experience yet . Did I mention we like pics ? LOL .
Wadesf68, I don't recognize that rear end. It looks heavier than Ford F2/3 rear ends. I'm thinking maybe Eaton mfg.
Also, you should start a separate thread for your truck. It will be easier for all of us to follow along.
