Towing wiring wierdness

Hello guys, I have gotten myself into a time sensitive pinch. Im driving tomorrow (I hope) to get a new travel trailer, but as i was going through my truck i noticed some wierd things.

When plugged in, my trailer blinkers and brake lights work, but nothing else. No brake controller activity, no running lights, and no backup lights.

All fuses in both the under steering wheel and underhood panel have been tested or replaced. All maxi and mini fuses are installed.

Hers the wierdness: I keep reading about a an black box next to the fuse box that houses two relays as part of a 'factory tow package', but my truck does not have seem to have that box or relays. I dont know if my truck ever had the factory tow package installed. When i got to the back of the truck and look at the trailer wiring harness, i notice that its a 7point connector, which i thought that would indicate it does have the factory tow package.

Why don't I have the relay box in the under-hood compartment? Would that cause my brake controller and running lights to not function?
What do i do to fix this ASAP?

Before doing anything else, did you establish whether your seven pin has voltage to the pins? The most common issue with older trucks is actually the connection to the seven pin behind the bumper. The fact you have some trailer function suggests the seven pin is receiving power. Have you towed with this truck successfully in the past? Need more info.

Yes, I have power to only 2 pins on the truck, the right / left pins.
There’s no power to the battery charger pin, running lights pin, or trailer brakes pin. Tested with multi meter.

I bought the truck a year ago but haven’t towed with it. I’m discovering these issues now.

Whenever I was confronted by this type of problem where the pins appeared dead, I started by verifying on the back of the seven pin there wires actually were not hot, but the connection in the pin was lost. That normally meant using a test light and piercing the wire jacket to verify there was no power. If there was none, that meant directing everything to the front of the truck unless the wires had obviously been rerouted, were hanging broken, etc. Naturally if the wires were powered but the seven pin was not the repair was at the seven pin. Breaks in wiring from the front to the rear of the truck were rare unless someone had gotten creative with the wiring, which seemed to happen with some frequency.

I had an 02, but can not recall the relay situation, but so much has been posted about problems like this in the past, a search should turn up a good deal of material. Perhaps someone else can post an answer to your relay question.
