Back up sensor ?
Just curious what is the range of the back up sensors on a 2020 Ford f-250 is it 180 degrees ? If you walk behind the truck should the alarm go off in the truck ? It seems to work if I'm backing up to a trailer...but doesn't pick up in either corner...Went to the dealer and they said all is fine but to me doesn't seem right .

Went through this very discussion with my local dealer. My 2021 does not give as much warning as the 2017 I traded in. Since it was still on the lot we tested them side by side. The 2017 would beep at 38" while the 2021 beeped at 15". The service tech notified his tech line who told him not to compare different year trucks. We then tested another 2021 along side mine and they were identical.
It looks like Ford decreased the sensitivity for some reason. If they run the scan and don't get any faults it is in spec.

I am not sure which sensor is tripping the alarm, but I've noticed that if my tail gate is open/down the back up alarms sounds immediately. I would have to wonder it the change in the detection range has anything to do with that. As the OP stated his new '21 sounds off at 15", which is well under the distance of the tail gate to the ground. Then again in my case it might be the sensors picking up the open tail gate as an potential obstruction if the sensors "see" a 360 degree conical detection zone.
