Takes up a lot of room in their database and lots of training on newer employees to keep up on older models.

But to answer the question about why the truck won't take a pre loaded tune after the PCM update, they will be updating their tunes to work with this new update. He was able to load a custom tune file that was basically just a stock file which told him it is still tunable with what they have, but that they needed to update some stuff on their end and then send it out to us in an update.

I should be hearing back from them when that happens.

Nice brother, way to get hold of them. I sent a message last week before I posted here, and when I didn’t hear back from them I started assuming. I plugged in for updates and there were a cpl, but when I tried to upload tune to my truck, I’d didn’t recognize anything.

not supposed to have this thing where I live, not sure if I should call them direct or not.

Ur the man for diggin in tho!!!

Well, I had heard rumor that Ford put a hold on performing this recall but when I asked my service advisor this morning he did not verify that. In fact they just performed the recall on my 2019 recently. If not yesterday then it was last Thursday.

Sure enough I found this......

I just took my 2017 F250 in Wednesday and on the paperwork I got back it showed that this PCM update was completed. My truck is deleted and tuned. I went ahead and loaded my tune again yesterday when I got the truck back and it loaded just fine. I’m running the EZLYNK with Proven Tunes. I wonder why they still did the update after that video clearly says to stop doing it. Geez lol

Mine dropped significantly too. A family member of mine is who first told me about the recall being put on hold. He was having idle issues after the recall was performed so he asked them if they could revert back to the old programing, they said no, he/we will have to wait for another PCM flash from Ford.

Greetings,
I am new to the forum and hope I do not cover material that has been discussed. I recieved the update program on April 5 of this year and my milage went from 17.5 to 7.5. The truck had thrown a code in Indiana and so the ford shop there, loaded the new program 20E07 and did what they called "reset the parameters". They also did a manual re-gen and sent me on my way back home to NV. When I seen the milage drop I took the truck to the local Ford dealer. They said they could not reset the old programming back to stock and had to wait fro Ford to revamp the recall. This did not speak to the "reset parameter" from the original service ticket in IN. Does anyone have an idea if these parameters could be part of my problem? This milage has cost me over $500 so far and this is getting annoying. The truck appear to run ok otherwise. With that bad of fuel milage, you would think I would be blowing black smoke.
Thanks for your help.
Shady

Haha, I would if I knew it was an update (fix) to the last. There was a post in another thread that had me thinking this new one might be unrelated to the last.

I made the mistake of letting the dealer do this.

Big mistake and lesson learned, the throttle response is totally different and needs to be pushed further to get a response. Feels like it have to force a lockdown to get the response I used to have. Prior to this the truck responded with the pedal. I am trying to get the dealer to set it back.

Unfortunately I don't think there is another program for you then. Those who had the 20E07 done before July 3rd are getting the 21E14, but those who got it after July 3rd are supposed to be good to go. The dealers don't have a way of reversing the program, or at least that's what they say. The response myself and some others have recieved is to wait for the next reprogram.

I'm thinking the program you recieved is the 21E14.

Anyone have recent experience with the 20E07 programming? My 17 F350 is scheduled for service next week. I just noticed that the dealer added this recall to my service ticket without notice.
