Just says pcm reprogramming. I wait till Ford sends me a letter before i get concerned about it.

Recall 20E07

Hello all! I read about the recall last week on here and sure enough my 19 diesel is on the list. Just dropped it off at dealer and he was reading the recall to me and said it’s an emissions recall for CA and Massachusetts. I thought it was an update for the instrument cluster going black or something !?! I confirmed the recall number with service advisor and they matched. It’s still a PCM update. Would there be multiple issues on the same update? Thanks !

My FordPass lists 20E07 as Powertrain control module reprogramming. Did a search and related to a trouble code U0401?

In that case I should be seeing something on my app in the near future. I did a quick google search and found no real details. It looks like it applies to diesel F150's too.

FYI, mine is a 2017 Canadian diesel. So, IDK. Sure wish Ford Pass said more about what it actually is.

Had my '19 6.7 at the dealer today for death wobble and they reflashed my PCM. No mention of a recall, just "Oh by the way..."

I was in for service last week and the SA said there was a recall, but they couldn’t connect to the server at Ford so they couldn’t complete it.

He said it was an emissions programming issue. I said “oh, so a compliance thing, not a mechanical or safety issue?” He said, “yeah, emissions compliance.”

Took our 2017 F-350 in for the TSB for the CCV system. While in there they reprogrammed our PCM. Didn't even mention it.

Exclamation Diesel Emissions Recall 20E07

I took my 2019 in for it's regular service and they told me that I did have to do an emissions update. So...I removed tuner from my truck, put the stock settings back in, got my truck back and now I can't reinstall tunes into my truck. I suspect that they have somehow added a lockout to the ECU so changes cannot be made. I'm totally guessing, but sure does seem logical. The other thing I noticed was a huge loss in MPG's, while I haven't done the math yet, I sure see it in my consumption rates. I was getting 16 HWY, 13 on average with tune, currently getting just under 10 on average without tune...was 14 on HWY without tune prior to update performed. The SCT BDX tuner I have says it cannot find firmware. I tried and did update tuner and now my can tunes are gone from SCT/Bully Dog. after going to their website, they are actually not providing service or tech support on a lot of their products...scared and going out of business?

I remember back in 06 they did something similar to my dually. Said I couldn't register my truck unless it was done..wouldn't tell me what they were doing exactly. That's when I told them they were detuning my truck, why else would the DMV get involved. Went form 14 to 10 MPG's in that truck!!

That's not good. I'm dropping my truck off for warranty work next week and noticed the PCM reprogram as part of the scheduled service.

I don't have a tune, but any change they make that has a negative impact on performance, mpg or anything else is not something I want.

A lot of conflicting information on this. Some say it shortens regens and helps mileage.

I’ve had mine done 2 weeks now and just like the poster above mentioned my mileage has for SURE tanked!!! Yes, regens are WAY shorter like 25 miles to 8 for full completion but mileage sucks. In my 19 dually i don’t expect great mileage anyway and never got stellar mileage but now it’s worse. Nothing much you can do I don’t think.

I just got off the phone with their tech support. Excellent EXCELLENT tech support. They aren't going out of business. I'm fact I read the guy your comment about that and he explained that just recently they had to put their foot down on taking calls on tech support for older model devices. Takes up a lot of room in their database and lots of training on newer employees to keep up on older models.

But to answer the question about why the truck won't take a pre loaded tune after the PCM update, they will be updating their tunes to work with this new update. He was able to load a custom tune file that was basically just a stock file which told him it is still tunable with what they have, but that they needed to update some stuff on their end and then send it out to us in an update.

I should be hearing back from them when that happens.
